Independence Mine Preservation Plan

The Independence Mine SHP Preservation plan will establish planning guidelines and a long-range vision for developing and maintaining interpretive sites and materials. The plan will present an overview of the mine's cultural, historical, natural, and recreational qualities, define management goals and objectives, visitor experience goals, interpretive themes, and make recommendations for projects and partnerships.


Independence Mine State Historical Park Draft Preservation Plan Public Review

Independence MineThe planning team would like to thank all of those who provided us with comments on the draft preservation plan. The draft version of the Independence Mine State Historical Park Preservation Plan was made available for public review and comment between Thursday, August 4, 2011, and Monday, August 29, 2011. Many key stakeholders and interested members of the community reviewed this draft and provided written comments to the planning team that will help shape preservation activities at the historic mine site.
